Mr. Arthur Cedric James was born January 30, 1949 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Arthur and Helen Bartelle James. He departed this life in Temple, Texas.
He attended the public schools of Florence County at an early age and then relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Overbrook High School in 1967. He furthered his education at Temple University in Philadelphia and received his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor.
Arthur served his county in the United States Army during three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge.
Left to cherish fond memories are: one sister, Alice J. Capehart of Hampton, VA; two aunts, Dorothy Bartelle of Florence, SC and Harriett Bartelle of Minneapolis, MN; a great aunt, Essie James of Marion, SC; one nephew, Stephen Rafael James of Richmond, VA; and a host of cousins and friends.
