Mr. Jacob Lewis, III, 41, departed this earthly life on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina.
Jacob, affectionately called "Junior" and "Jay" by family and friends, but he was also known as 'Knowledge' by his closest and dearest friends in New York. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 20, 1968 to Jacob and Rosa Allen Lewis. He was educated in the public schools of Fayetteville, NC and Brooklyn, NY. He was a former employee of Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY where he worked for 17 years. Jacob moved down to South Carolina where he gained employment with the Carolina Hospital Systems and then moved on to McLeod Regional Medical Center where he worked until his death.
Jacob touched the lives of all that he met. He never met a stranger and everyone was a friend. He enjoyed life and he loved and enjoyed being around his family and friends. Jacob past time was going fishing or hunting with close friends and family.
He was united in holy matrimony to Debra Joseph Lewis in June 2008. To this union a son was born, Darkale Jaheim Lewis. He also has a precious daughter that he loved so dearly, Kyneekwah 'Duce' Lewis from Brooklyn, NY. He always expressed the loved that he had for his children. He also had an unconditional love for his dear grandmother, Ella Allen.
Left to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Debra Lewis; two children, Kyneekwah 'Duce' Lewis of Brooklyn, NY, and Darkale Jaheim Lewis of the home; his loving and devoted parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Lewis of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Beverly Lewis of Florence, SC and Valerie (Dannie) Johnson of Norwalk, CT; two brothers, Jason (Delores) Lewis of Lake City, SC and Frederick (Juanita) Lewis of Fayetteville, NC; mother-in-law, Elaine Joseph of Florence, SC; father and stepmother-in-law, Tommie (Hannah) Smith of Dovesville, SC; three brothers-in-law; 3 maternal aunts; 4 paternal aunts; 4 maternal uncles; 5 paternal uncles; 8 aunts- in-laws; 4 uncles-in-law; great aunts, great uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
