Mr. Rueben Belle was born on September 4, 1933 in Darlington, South Carolina. He was the son of Mr. Claude and Mrs. Ethel Samuel Belle. He departed his life on Monday, February 15, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

He received his education in the Darlington County Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army, June 17, 1953 and was honorably discharged on May 21, 1955. During his years of employment, he worked for Wallace Concrete Pipe Co., Florence Darlington Technical College, Florence County Public Library and Goody's Clothing Store.

Reuben was married to Mary Louise Jackson Belle of Florence, SC.

He was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church in Darlington, SC.

Rueben was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Edward, Roosevelt, Beatrice and Ida.

Left to cherish his memories are: his son, Partee Larue (Mary) Bell Sr. of Florence, SC; three grandchildren, Sierria L. Bell, Partee L. Bell, Jr. of Florence, SC and Steven Timmons of San Diego, CA; nine step-children, Mary Ann Brockington of Washington, DC; Annie (James) Hart, Stately Brockington, Alfred Brockington, Lurenthia Bell, Brenda (Bishop Kenneth) Swaringer, Jerome Bell, all of Florence, SC; Isaiah (Francena) Brockington and Janice (Clifton) Smith of Darlington, SC; twenty-two step grandchildren; one brother, Nathaniel Bell of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Doris Skipwith of Newark, NJ; three sisters-in-law, Sadie Belle of Philadelphia, PA; Amell Ervin of Winston Salem, NC and Betty Williams of Darlington, SC; four brothers-in-law, General Jackson, Franklin Jackson of Florence, SC; John Jackson of Olanta, SC and Robert Jackson of High Point, NC; a devoted friend of many years, Elizabeth Ervin of Florence, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
