Mr. Elzworth Bradley, Deacon Emeritus, was born on May 5, 1917 to Lafayette and Dora Toney Bradley in Lynchburg, South Carolina. He was the eldest of his siblings, all of whom preceded him in death, except one sister. On Monday, February 15, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina, he departed this earthly life.

He was a member of Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Church, Timmonsville, SC from early childhood until the late 1960's, when he joined Savannah Grove Baptist Church, where his wife was a member. At Savannah Grove, he attended faithfully and served on the Deacon Ministry until his health declined, which he then became Deacon Emeritus.

His work history consisted of farming and mill work and he thoroughly enjoyed yard and maintenance work.

Elzworth was married to Tearetha Lunn Bradley and to this union eight children were born.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Theann Tene Lane; and several siblings.

Those left to cherish his memories are: seven children, Mildred Carter of Hopkins, SC; Deacon George R. (Jeanette) Bradley of Charleston, SC; Alphonso (Hildegard) Bradley of Ansbauch, Germany; Barbara (Robert) Elom of Fayetteville, NC; Sandra (Hans) Goemes of Mt. Corballis, Ireland; Alexander (Lorraine) Bradley of Florence, SC and Judi (George) Haynesworth of Boca Raton, FL; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Ruth B. James of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
